Too many magazines and articles offer quick fixes for your body image but the real concern with nutrition and health is making small changes that can last over your entire life. Our bodies, after all, are nothing more than the energy we put into them and the amount that we burn off. Do not try to conform to hype diets or wacky exercises: instead, begin to think of ways you could live differently and provide a better future for yourself. Healthy living should not be a destination but a journey, and you should not abandon the effort for the times that you slip or regress or cannot commit to a certain change.

You feel younger and full of energy when you do not overload your diet. Cut down calories by trimming portion sizes and eating small meals often. A heavy dinner leaves you bloated and tired anyway, so why not change it up?

These are full of salts and preservatives to ensure they last long, both of which limit your metabolism from optimal functionality. Reducing your consumption of processed foods is easy. Cut down on junk food and spend more time in the produce aisle. Do not think that “healthy” boxed foods are any better. Red meat, by contrast, has so much saturated fat and cholesterol that a healthy serving would be about the size of your thumb. If you are a man health concerns from red meat are likely far from your mind: the average American man consumes around five pounds of red meat a month, which accounts for more cholesterol than the rest of his monthly intake combined. You do not need to stop eating red meat forever for optimal health, but rather consider substituting white meat or tofu for those sirloin steaks and double cheeseburgers until you have less of a physical desire for the fat-laden meat.
